We had the pleasure of staying at the Howard Johnson in Anaheim, just steps away from Disneyland. A little “StayCation,” which was really nice, we got to enjoy Disneyland all day without being worried about the drive through traffic back to the Valley.
HoJo Anaheim (their Instagram handle @hojoanaheim) is a great option if you want to have a staycation, or vacation, without having to pay around $400 a night at a Disneyland Hotel. Trust me no magic is lost, as I feel the only perk to staying at the Disneyland Resort would be the Extra Magic Hour only available to guest who stay at their Resort. But honestly, if go to Disneyland (or California Adventure) as soon as the Park opens, also known as Rope Drop, you can get on many rides and even grab Fast Passes for a later time.

Now back to talking about our stay at the Howard Johnson. This hotel is about an 8-10 minute walk to Disneyland’s park entrance and is absolutely beautiful. They have newly renovated rooms with amazing views and at affordable prices, compared to other hotels in that area.

Theses are the beautiful beds, and not pictured is the small couch with a coffee table on the side. Other perks not photographed are the smart T.V, Disney art work, and the balcony.

This is was our view from our balcony. You can see their Pirates Lair water park (which is free if you stay at their Hotel) and beautiful Disneyland. We decided to stay in our room and we were able to watch the firework show from our room. It is also a beautiful sight to wake up to.
Affordable pricing, renovated rooms, a kid’s water park, great views, and just minutes away from the Disneyland entrance makes Howard Johnson a great place to stay while in Anaheim. We truly enjoyed our stay and will likely be staying there again next time we want to enjoy a full Disney day and avoid the L.A traffic returning back home.
