Tropicalia, Taco and Music Festival held this past November was pretty darn amazing. Held at the Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, the traffic getting in is always bad, but worth the wait. A big venue with a beautiful view of Downtown Long Beach across the bay. Along with a good venue came a great lineup.

SZA was added last minute do to Cardi B dropping out.

Right away we notice that Cardi B is absent from the original lineup, she was replaced by SZA. Also, many may not have noticed, but young upcoming artist “Cuco” was not able to attend because of a car accident him and his band were involved in. But even with those two artist missing, the lineup and performances did not disappoint. Morrisey had the venue go meat less for the first night, but well worth seeing him perform on stage. Cardi B was supposed to close out the festival Sunday, but instead SZA did and one of my favorite bands, Chicano Batman put on yet another great performance.

Tropicalia was advertised as a Taco Festival, and boy did they have yummy tacos. It seemed like the entire side stage section was full of magnificent tacos. If you aren’t a taco fan, we can’t be friends, but they did have other great options other than tacos.

Overall the atmosphere, food, and artist performances was well worth the hefty price tag. This was the first year Golden Voice took over this festival and they didn’t disappoint. They brought bigger stages, better sounds, and a fun festival to attend. I for one, cannot wait for 2019’s Tropicalia.
