Love tattoos? How about classic cars and music?

Musink is a festival put on by Travis Barker (the drummer for Blink 182, solo artist and DJ) and KROQ. It combines tattoos, art, music, and cars all in one for an immersive experience into the tattoo world!

There are three exhibit halls filled with tattoo artist and shops, where you can watch as tattoos get done live, or even get a tattoo of your own while there. It was pretty impressive to see all the art work on display by all the tattoo artist, and shops, along with some local artist with booths selling their merchandise.

In between these exhibit halls you can find food vendors, drinks, sponsors, and an alley of customized cars for car lovers to admire. Classic cars, trucks, and low riders. Clean and sparkling for viewers to enjoy and take photos of, with some of the car owners on hand to talk and answer questions.

And then of course there was the music. I forgot to mention that this event took place at the OC Fair Grounds, so its large and spacious with the music portion of the event being held at “The Hangar.” This year Travis Barker did not perform (drum solo nor with Blink 182), but he did DJ during the Saturday portion of this 3 day event. Though no Barker, this festival was not lacking in musical talent as Limp Bizkit performed Saturday (as well), Suicidal Tendencies performed Friday, and Sunday was closed out by The Vandals! With the Dead Kennedys playing earlier Sunday as well.

This was my first time attending this festival, my first time attending a tattoo type event for that matter, and I truly enjoyed my time there. With plenty of art too see, cars to admire, and music to enjoy Musink is a festival that many should look into for upcoming years. I for one can’t wait to go back next year.
