A small village a few miles away from Santa Barbara, in the Santa Ynez Valley, Solvang is a beautiful place to visit. A Danish, vintage, town with amazing wine tasting opportunities and delicious bakeries.
Had a chance to visit Solvang during the week when there weren’t many tourist, which was nice. We got to walk around with no crowds and got a really good deal on a hotel. Stayed in this beautiful town at the Corque Hotel, one of the newer hotels. Though it was elegant and a great value, if you’d like more of a Danish feel I would recommend another hotel in town.
Now on to wine tasting. There are so many wineries to chose from and I bet they are all great choices, but we chose to visit Cali Love Wines and D Volk Wines. Cali Love Wines was fun and with so many wines to taste, you are sure to have a good time. They even have karaoke on some nights and doughnut and wine parings, can you say yum. Our favorite wine there ways their dessert wine, Swing Town! Sweet and delicious. If you are into a fancier wine tasting, we loved D Volk Wines. With an elegant tasting room, great customer service, and some fine wine. From D Volk we loved all their wines, but especially loved their Rosa’.
As for a bakery recommendation, Solvang Bakery is quite delicious. Their jalapeno, cheese, and ham croissant was so delicious. Solvang is a great little road trip to take, wine and beautiful scenery, along with delicious food all around. I would recommend it.
