Biggie Smalls said it best,”It was all a dream!” Can you imagine having a festival that hosts not one, not two, but 3 legendary rock bands!? Well Golden Voice achieved just that in a beautiful Saturday afternoon in September. Pasadena DayDream brought festival goers together to watch The Cure, The Pixies, and The Deftones! And if those three bands weren’t enough they brought Mogwai, Throwing Muses, The Joy Formidable, Chelsea Wolfe, and a few more artist to round up the already very impressive lineup.
The music was absolutely amazing! With an amazing atmosphere of both festival goers who wanted to stand and sign, and rock out with their favorite bands. And other festival goers that just wanted to hang back on the grass pull up a lawn chair, or blanket, and just sit and listen to some good music. Still in the season of Summer it was a bit warm, but the festival grounds (just outside of the Rosebowl, on the golf course) offered plenty of shade and Goldenvoice also added large tents for guest to sit and enjoy a meal.
And speaking of enjoying a meal! The food lineup was up to par with the great music lineup. Delicious vendors like Cena Vegan, Cheezus, Fat Dragon, Pizzanista, Afters Ice Cream, and many many more. Many guest, like myself for one, could grab some food and take it over, near, the stage and just sit and enjoy both food and music.
Goldenvoice did a fantastic job with this festival, from great musical acts to great food and atmosphere. I sure hope that Pasadena DayDream returns next year, and many more years after that.
