If you live around L.A you have noticed the massive number of butterflies migrating north. It is a beautiful sight to see, beautiful butterflies just passing by on their way to their destination.

What if I told you that you could admire these beautiful insects up close?

Well the Natural History Museum has and exhibit in which you can walk and admire many different kinds of butterflies. From now until September 2nd, you can purchase timed entrances to the Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum in Downtown L.A.

This pavilion is truly a unique experience. Once you walk in you are lent a Guide, which has photographs of all the butterflies you may encounter while in the Butterfly Pavilion. You then get to walk around a dirt path (carefully as to not step on any butterflies on the path) and look, study these flying, beautiful insects. Many of the butterflies will be enjoying the flowers or plants just feet, inches, away from you. Photography is allowed, but touching is absolutely forbidden as to not injure, or hurt, the butterflies. I believe it can be a great experience for the whole family or for anyone who wants to see these insects up close and personal, not just flying by. The staff there is also very knowledgable, they can help you identify the butterfly you are observing, help you find a certain butterfly you might want to see, and even give fun facts.

Of course, when you have had all the fun you could have inside the Butterfly Pavilion, you can still enjoy and learn a lot more by touring the Natural History Museum itself.
